Don't you just love an empowering outfit? This is how I would choose to dress everyday if I could, and if I had a job which allowed for it. It's very girl boss I think. It's also fun to dress things up a bit without going overboard if you don't actually have somewhere very smart to go to. I think a pair of suit trousers with heels will always look smart. You may know how much I love sunglasses at this point, but how cool are these round ones, which add an interesting element to an otherwise more formal outfit.

This week will be spent mostly on my sofa, studying. Definitely not the most exciting, but I'm looking forward to getting this exam out of the way and then having a really long Christmas break. Then I can also really start to get into the Christmas spirit, but until then I will be reading all about pig diseases over and over and over.

Lavender: Incorporating the Slip Dress Trend

This is one of those looks that just came to me whilst trying on literally half my wardrobe. This past weekend my friend was kind enough to shoot some outfits, since we have another exam coming up in a couple of weeks. I love this dress, but clearly it's not the season, so I decided to make it for the season. I took the slip dress trend and used it with an evening bodycon dress, because isn't fashion all about pushing the boundaries and making it work for us? My favourite part is the scalloped detail and how the lavender contrasts against the black.

'because isn't fashion all about pushing the boundaries and making it work for us?'

Last week was busy, with lots of trips to the farm, which are very soon to be over. This week revision is kicking in again as I get ready for my pigs exam. If you follow me on snapchat (stilettocloud), you will have seen some cute videos of piglets. They are adorable, but boy can they scream, and it is very high pitched. I actually bring construction headphones with me on farm trips (I wish I was joking!). I'm looking forward to this coming weekend, as I have a Christmas Ball to attend, and I still don't know what I will wear (#girlproblems).

When only 1 Photo makes the Cut

If you have a fashion blog, then you know how challenging lighting can be when it comes to photographs. The other day when my friend kindly offered to take my outfit photos, it was just starting to get dark, but by the time we got out it the images were turning out mostly blurry. So I managed to get this good one using flash, but unfortunately it's the only one. Personally I prefer to see less photos, but in good quality than many which are blurry. Winter definitely makes it more challenging, with the days being shorter.

Anyway onto the outfit. I loved this combination, it was very comfortable and I just added a coat and scarf for added warmth. This winter I think I will wear more skirts, mostly because I have finally perfected the amount of layers I need to not freeze. So, for me it's thermal leggings and socks with my thermal tights on top. Over the knee boots are also such a great trend and a practical one (which isn't usually the case!) with skirts and dresses.

This weekend I went to brunch with my friend, and we had the most amazing avocado bread (I am SO late to the bandwagon!) followed by chocolate pancakes. Isn't that exactly what weekends are about? I also watched the movie Love, Rosie and loved it, anybody else obsessed with Sam Claflin?! This week is starting to slow down for me with lessons, and I will be starting up revision again towards the end. I really can't wait to be done with exams and be a vet!

I would love to know, what is your go to warm winter essential?

Don't you love that moment when you put on an outfit, and walk out the door feeling like you nailed it? That was the case with this, it's very comfortable, mixes modern and classics and is very everyday.  I think a simple choker with a chunkier long necklace pairs together beautifully. The accessories make this outfit, along with the cropped denim together with an ankle strap shoe.

This past weekend I spent mostly at home and dog walking (I am currently looking after my friends dog). If it weren't for this, I would probably not leave my home because it has been extremely wet and miserable outside. I have been binge watching New Girl too (what else is new?). What are your current favourite shows?

I have been loving this Autumn, because the weather has actually been good enough to mix pieces from different seasons, without freezing. These slingbacks were such a good choice of shoe and I even wore them out the other night to celebrate my exam being done (yes, finally some time off!). I cut off the hem on my jeans to give it that frayed look, and it's the easiest (& cheapest) way to change up your denim look. (P.S. Great tutorial here).

On another note I have been binge-watching New Girl (ran out of Big Bang Theory, sad times), as well as watching movies, eating lots of chocolate in bed and sleeping in. I never want this break to end, although sadly I am back at university tomorrow. I wanted to go out for Halloween last night, but decided to skip this year because the bags under my eyes are scary enough (you think I am kidding, but concealer is wonderful thing). I did, however watch Hocus Pocus for the first time, and I can definitely see why it's a classic (#lovedit).
