Kemer, Turkey

My boyfriend and I took a trip to Kemer, Turkey last week. We were looking for a resort style holiday, focusing mainly on a nice hotel with good food and gorgeous beaches. We stayed at the Otium Life Hotel. The hotel itself was amazing, and I can definitely recommend it. The staff were so nice and helpful and the food was incredible. My favourite part, without a doubt, was the private beach. The water was so warm and I loved to just float on my lilo.

We visited the town of Phaselis one day, which has ancient ruins. It was very cool to walk around the ancient town, which even showed where Main Street used to be. Our main goal was to find somewhere to snorkel, since sandy beaches aren't really ideal. There weren't many people, since you had to go into a national park in order to get to it, but there seemed to be quite a few locals. I only snorkelled for a bit, but there were so many fish right at the shore, and you could see them just like in an aquarium but better!

We went to Antalya for the day to visit the aquarium and harbour. It was only about an hour by bus, which picked us up directly outside our hotel. The aquarium has the largest tunnel in the world, which was such a cool feature. We then walked to the harbour from the aquarium for over an hour, not an easy task in the sweltering heat, so maybe take a taxi! The harbour had so many pirate ships, which seems to be very popular with the tourists.

On my birthday, we went parasailing, which was one of the best experiences I have had! You totally have to try it if you aren't scared of heights. The views were gorgeous. We did it right at the hotel, which was a big bonus, and then took a quick boat trip around the area.

September was a really good time to go, just when the weather was starting to cool down in Austria. It was around 30 degrees everyday. The sunsets were also incredible every evening.
