Black & White

This foggy weather we have had lately has been pretty cool for taking photographs. I love the background, it looks like you are walking off into nothing. This dress is perfect for New Years Eve or any festive occasion. Black and white is such a classic, you just can't go wrong. You could also add a pop of colour and pair it with red accessories for example. Sequins are great, but with something like this you know you can re-wear it any time of the year.

Blush Dress

Boohoo Dress (similar) | Zara Blazer (similar) | Zara Heels (similar here & here) | Clutch (similar) | M&S Gloves | Pandora Bracelet | Other Bracelets (similar here, here & here) | Rings (similar here & here)

This outfit is perfect for any Christmas dinners or events, aswell as being perfect for New Years Eve. I love blush toned anything, since it's very elegant and almost can pass as a neutral (which I happen to love!). Adding tights, with a black blazer and gloves is great for the journey and looks very put together.

Blanket Scarf

Mango Scarf (similar) | Zara Faux Leather Jacket (similar) | Zara Jeans | Ezzio Booties (similar here & here) | Michael Kors Bag (outlet) | Vogele Top (similar) | Bijou Brigitte Watch (similar here & here)| Bijou Brigitte Bracelet (similar)

The scarf makes this outfit in my opinion. I love the oversized look and feel of it, plus the checked pattern is gorgeous and so festive. These skinny jeans are actually an early Christmas gift from my mother (so nice!) and I love them. I get all my jeans exclusively from Zara or Mango and lately I have been gravitating more towards Zara. They just fit so well and are incredibly flattering. Throw on some heels and an instant butt lift follows!

Yesterday I spent the day in Vienna visiting the Christmas Markets, wandering the cafés and doing some shopping (I may have found a gorgeous new Winter coat!). The Christmas Markets in Vienna are definitely worth seeing if you ever get the chance, and are always stocked with gorgeous items and food. Today I am planning to go ice-skating with my friends. What festive things have you been doing lately? I would love to hear!

Shirt & Coat

please ignore the gremilin thumbs-up hand here!
Ralph Lauren Shirt | Zara Jeans (similar) | Zara Coat (similar) | H&M Boots | Zara Bag (similar here & here) | Boohoo Necklace | Gloves (similar)

This is what I wore to my final on Monday. I think it's the perfect business casual outfit. Everyone should own a smart shirt that fits well, and my Ralph Lauren was definitely a smart purchase, since I will have it for years. This outfit would also look great with black boots, but mine were currently being resoled. My bag has gotten a lot of use, it's the most practical size and due to it's square fitted structure, looks very smart. Also, my apologies for some of these photos, but it was a VERY windy day!

This morning I slept in a little, and yesterday I had my last exam of the year. I was so excited to be done, that I celebrated with the last 2 episodes of Sex and the City and watched the first movie too. This morning I am planning to head to the sofa and watch the second one! Then I will need to pack and clean, since I'm heading home tomorrow! I hope you are all having a good start to the weekend.

Skirt & Faux Fur

Zara Top (similar here & here) | Stradivarius Skirt (similar) | Zara Shoes (similar) | Tally Weijl Clutch (similar) | Stradivarius Faux Fur (similar & on SALE)

This outfit is perfect for this Winter and festive season. I love a cropped faux fur vest with a high-waisted skirt. My top actually has some sequinned stars sewn on, but you can only really see one in the photos. It's a great way to add some sparkle in a subtle way. I'm wearing thermal tights here and they are so warm. I bought them at my local supermarket and don't know the brand, but I will link some similar ones. I highly recommend finding some good warm black tights, they are the perfect Winter staple if you still want to wear skirts and dresses.

I passed a final yesterday, and only have one smaller exam left for Thursday. I really can't wait to have a break from lessons and exams for a little while, plus enjoy the holiday season properly. Have a great week!

Cable-Knit Poncho

New Yorker Poncho (similar) | Zara Jeans (similar) | H&M Boots | CCC Bag (similar online here) | Tommy Hilfiger Coat (similar) | H&M Scarf (similar)

I wore this poncho last weekend when my mother visited. I love how flowy and cosy it is. The trick with these oversized ponchos or jumpers is to wear skinny jeans and ideally some form of heel, to elongate yourself. I'm pretty tall and still find that I can look frumpy if I don't wear a heel or a flattering shoe with this. Also how snuggly does this coat look? It's perfect for cold weather and especially snow. I find it extremely hard to find cute puffy coats, but this one is definitely a hit in my books.

Today I have a small animals exam, so I will keep it short. I hope you all have some nice plans for the weekend and are enjoying the Winter season. It has been very gloomy here (as seen by the photos above!) and I would really like to see the Sun soon! Chat soon.

Faux Fur & Faux Leather

I know, I know, my face here!

Zara Faux Fur (similar & on SALE) | Zara Faux Leather Jacket | CCC Booties (similar online here) | Zara Jeans (similar) | Boohoo Sunglasses (similar) | CCC Bag (similar online here)

I love that this outfit is a combination of girly and edgy, but definitely quite edgy for me. As you probably know, I don't wear real fur, and I'm trying to not buy real leather as much as possible. The trick is picking out the right pieces that don't look plastic or cheap. I think it's incredible how we can wear faux leather and faux fur and still make it look great, without any need for animal cruelty. I really like the leather and fur look, and the contrast of textures.

This weekend my mum visited me here at university, and it has been so fun. We went to the Christmas market and to the theatre (we watched the Nutcracker!) on Sunday. Yesterday she made me lots of great food, and froze some of it, which will make for a very enjoyable week, since I have lots of exams, including one today.  Hope you all are having a great week, and if you are like me with exams these next couple weeks, good luck!!

5 Ways to Embrace Winter

I have always been someone who loves warm weather. The fact that I now live in a place where it gets very cold during the Winter was a rough transition. It also doesn't help at al, that a lot of my friends live in tropical areas. I consider myself to be a very positive person, so I'm always trying to look on the bright side and make the most of things. I thought I would share with you how I have learnt to enjoy it, rather than hate it.

1. Start by changing the way you think. It may feel natural to automatically hate the cold rain and wind, or ice and snow. However, there can also be things to look forward to when the temperatures drop. Challenge yourself to look for those things.

2. You aren't expected to be out all the time, so it's the perfect excuse to have at-home days. I love to do this at least once a week. My favourite part is being able to snuggle up on the sofa with a warm blanket and watch a good movie or some episodes of my favourite series. A warm cup of tea and popcorn or chocolate is also essential.

3. Take advantage of the fashion. There has never been a better reason to bundle up and be able to walk around feeling like a giant marshmallow or like you are in a duvet. Also, just because the weather is gloomy doesn't mean your style has to suffer. You can check out my ideal Winter outfit here

4. There is always Christmas to look forward to. Even if you don't celebrate it, seeing the city or town illuminated and beautifully decorated should be enough to make you smile. I like to get myself into the festive mood around the end of November, but it really kicks in on the 1st of December, when I open my advent calendar. And no, you are never too young for one!

 5. Last but not least, if you are lucky enough to have some snow, or have access to a ski resort, go! Even though I have never been a fan of the cold for prolonged periods of time (so more than a week), I have loved going skiing since I was a child. If you don't like to go skiing, I would still highly recommend going to a ski resort with friends or family and enjoy the gorgeous snowy scenery. It really is a huge difference from the city.and a great way to spend some time in the nature.

How do you feel about the Winter?

Stripes & Over the Knee Boots

I wore this a couple weeks ago, and luckily, since it's definitely too cold now. It was actually snowing on Saturday, but not cold enough to stick. Wearing the over-the-knee socks under my boots were the perfect way to stay warm without having to resort to tights. Oh, and in case you are wondering, I totally wore my coat (seen here) over this outfit! I have gotten so much use out of this long-sleeve black top lately, and these days I wear a black tank top underneath for extra warmth. Think I may need to get another one.

Last weekend was really nice. I barely left my flat, and watched several movies. Soon I will be having exams again, so this is probably the last weekend of bed and movies. What is your favourite way to spend a relaxing weekend? Hope you all have a great week!

Winter Glow

I am so obsessed with all of these items, and think any would make a great Christmas gift (except perhaps the jeans, unless you know the person VERY well!). I think white in the snow is so chic and you really can't go wrong. Yes, you may be at risk of camouflage, but isn't that half the fun?! I'm actually on the hunt for a new warm Winter coat, and this one is stunning! Also going to try and order the boots soon I hope, since those I really want for Christmas, they are perfect for the snow and it gets really cold here.

Hope you all have a great weekend! I'm having some friends over tonight for a Christmas movie night. We are planning to watch The Family Stone, which I haven't seen before. Now, I need (yes, NEED) to head out to a cake sale going on at my university, since I have the day off school today.

Burgundy

Zara Coat (similar & on SALE!) | Tommy Hilfiger Pullover | H&M Skirt (sold out, similar) | H&M Boots | Michael Kors Bag | Boohoo Sunglasses (similar & on SALE!)

This is one of my new favourite outfits I have put together. I love the browns and burgundy. Ever since I bought these over the knee boots, I have been trying to wear a lot more dresses and skirts with jumpers. I find that during Winter, I can easily fall into a rut of wearing jeans and boots every single day. Unfortunately the skirt is sold out already, so I have linked this similar option, which is probably warmer too! I know burgundy is what everyone is wearing this season, but I think it's a gorgeous colour and one I haven't really experimented much with until this year.

In other news, this weekend I had the Christmas Ball event, and I wore this burgundy dress, however beware it runs a size small! I posted a picture on instagram. I have been trying to learn more about my camera and take prettier instagrams, aswell as learn about getting the perfect lighting. If you have any tips I would love to know. Hope you all have a great week!

Booties & Ripped Denim

These photos were taken around the back of St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna. The main reason being, it would be impossible to take some outside the front of the cathedral, since it's always very busy with people. I love the little side streets in Vienna, they are so quirky and cute. I wanted to make sure I was warm and comfortable, but still put together.

This weekend I am going to a Christmas Ball party, which I'm so excited about. I went last year too, and it was so much fun. I'm also somewhat terrified I won't make it into my dress, since I ordered it online and it turned out to be a little on the small side! Do you have any fun Christmas events coming up?
